Australian Citizens Radio Emergency Monitors (ACREM) was once again amongst the many local charities that benefited from the generosity of Hunter Valley Gardens in Pokolbin.
ACREM, along with Rotary, Lions and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, shared in over $19,500 raised during the 2009 Christmas Lights Spectacular and donated back to local charities to help support their valuable work.
The Christmas Lights Spectacular ran from 12th November 2009 to 6 January 2010, with ACREM providing volunteers to assist with traffic control and cap parking as well as first aid for the many visitors to the event.
Reverend Martin Howells, National Director for ACREM, said “The money donated by Hunter Valley Gardens will allow us to purchase some much needed equipment as well as helping us better serve our communities”.
ACREM volunteers have assisted at previous Hunter Valley Gardens events including the 2008 Christmas Lights Spectacular, 2008 and 2009 Carols by Candlelight, and the VIP day in 2009 which saw ACREM volunteers provide traffic control during the Governor-General’s visit to the Gardens. “Our members enjoy helping at the Gardens and their support is certainly welcome” Rev. Howells said.
