Microsoft Donates Software

Sunday, 21 Feb 2010

By: National Admin

As part of the Micorsoft commitment to providing software and digital skills training to Australia’s non-profit and charitable sector, ACREM recently received a donation of $2,365 worth of Microsoft software to help keep computer systems up-to-date.

In the last year Microsoft donated $23 million worth of software to Australian charities and non-profit organisations. ACREM’s National Director, Rev. Martin Howells, said “The donation of this software will help us ensure our computer systems are operating at peak efficiency and are ready to be pressed into action at any time. Although our main role is radio communications, computers are often used for log keeping, weather alerts, training, publicity, and much more.”

This is the second donation of software from Microsoft that ACREM has received. “These donations have allowed us to update software on a regular basis so that our systems always run the latest software” Rev. Howells said.
