Cadets apply online

Wednesday, 24 Feb 2010

By: National

Youth wishing to join ACREM as Cadets can now sign up online using the Cadet Application for Membership form. Children of ACREM members can join from age 6, or children from non-members from age 9.

Cadets will be trained in basic radio communications operation as well as some basic bush and survival skills. Those over 14 can also learn first aid and can start training to become a Monitor at age 16.

Cadets are able to assist at many events ACREM attends, under the supervision of adult Members. ACREM has a strict Child Safety policy and an appointed Child Safety Officer as well as a National Cadet Officer. These two officials are charged with ensuring the safety of all Cadets and that Cadet welfare is paramount at all events they attend.

Youth interested in learning more about radio communications, operating radio equipment including Amateur Radio equipment, assisting with first aid at events, and generally serving their communities are invited to join as a Cadet. You can use the online application form, or contact us for a paper form to be mailed out.
